Once you have created a Specimen Cache Account, use the web address and user information provided to log in to your account. If you have not done so, create an account for your organization, then return here to continue. Use the web address and user credentials you entered to log in to your new Specimen Cache Account. Set up your Facilities:Facilities are usually different laboratories of your organization. Examples include "AAA Hospital Lab", "Central Lab", "Satellite Lab", etc. Smaller operations may only have one facility.
Set up your DepartmentsDepartments are segments of your operation that exist in a single facility. Examples include "Specimen Processing", "Hematology", "Chemistry", etc. You may choose to omit departments that will not participate in specimen storage.
Set up your StationsStations represent a storage area. It might represent a single Refigerator or a bank of Refrigerators/Freezers. Racks will be assigned to these stations. Examples include "Freezer Bank", "Main Fridge", etc.
Set up your usersSet up the users that will participate in storing or retrieving specimens from the system. You will be given the opportunity to provide a username and password for each user to use to log into the system.
Set up Rack DefinitionsDescribe the types of racks you have in your organization. Currently the only type of rack supported is type 'Grid'. You will be asked to enter the column and row labels separated by commas. Common column and row labels would include "A,B,C,D,E,F", or "1,2,3,4,5,6". Prepare the racksPrepare your racks and assign them a code, and put them in the system.
